Working to build the
foundations for amazing
futures for little ones

Ditton Church Pre-School was opened in January 2001 and is run by a Management Committee. It was originally set up by St Peter’s Church, Ditton and a small committee of parents. The Pre-School started with six children, has grown considerably over the years and continues to thrive.

All our staff hold, or are working towards a Pre-School qualification and staff and regular volunteers are checked by the DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service).

The Pre-School is registered with the KCC and offers funding for three year olds and also for some two year olds subject to eligibility.

The Pre-School is also registered with the Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED). Our last Ofsted inspection took place in Feb 2016 and we were rated as an outstanding setting.

We offer a warm welcome for each individual child and family, and  provide a caring environment within which all children can learn and develop as they play. We run five morning sessions - Monday to Friday, and three afternoon sessions - Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, during normal school term times. Some of the afternoon sessions are for our Rising Stars; that is those children due to start at infant school the following September.

Whilst we are a church Pre-School, we welcome children from all backgrounds and beliefs. We celebrate the main Church of England festivals, some in the Church Building, and will inform parents in advance of these occasions. We are linked to St Peter's Church and Reverend Ross Terranova warmly welcomes all pre-school families.  Ross is also the Chairperson of our Pre-School Committee. For more information about St Peter's Church please visit the website Other religions and festivals are recognised over the course of the year as part of our extensive Personal, Social and Emotional development curriculum.

(written by the mother of Hendrix)

"Thank you very much for the support, advice and input you have given to James and us over the last two years. We feel happier knowing that James is moving onto big school with the support that he needs already being in place"

My family consists of my long-suffering husband and my two grown-up children. I have worked at Ditton Church Pre-School since January 2004 and love working with a team who are passionate about the work they do.

I have early years qualifications at Levels 2, 3 and 4 and have undertaken leadership and management training, amongst many other courses. After working as Deputy Supervisor in a joint role with Sandie for many years, I took on the role of Supervisor in May 2011. I am also the named Safeguarding representative for the Pre-School.

I have been working at the Pre-School  since May 2011 firstly as Bank Staff and then permanently in September 2012. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree with qualified teacher status.

I was promoted to Deputy Supervisor/ Setting SENCo from November 2018. I taught in a primary school in London for 11 years working with children from the age of 4 to 11.

I have 2 children of my own. Both of my children enjoyed their time at Ditton Church Pre School and are now at school.

I started work at the Pre-School as Catering Assistant. In April 2014
I became a Practitioner. I have a Level 3 Qualification in Early Years.

I really enjoy working with the children and watching them develop.

I have had the absolute pleasure of working at Ditton Church Pre-School and playing with all the lovely children since September 2011. Since starting I have found the time to study and qualify for NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 in Early Years Foundation Stage. I am the setting representative for Health and Safety. I have a long connection to the Pre-School as my son was one of the first children to attend. My daughter followed 2 years later and I am very pleased to say that several staff members are still part of the Pre-School – proving what a lovely environment it is to be part of.

I was a Pre-School Practitioner here for five years, then I became Catering Assistant and reduced my hours for two years due to family commitments.I am pleased to now be back in the role of Pre-School Practitioner since September 2018. I have a Level 3 NVQ in Children’s Care, Learning and Development.

I am new to the area, moving locally in March 2019, so working at Ditton Church Pre-School will help me to feel part of the community. I am married with three children and a grandson, who is my absolute world. I have been a qualified Pre-School Practitioner since 2005 when I achieved my Level 3 Diploma in Pre-School Practice.

I am married and have three daughters and 3 grandchildren. I’ve worked at Ditton Church Pre-School from when it first opened in 2001 and have a CACHE Level 2 NVQ in Children’s Care, Learning and Development. My role is to support the children and assist Level 3 staff  with observations, replenish stock.

I am Childcare Development Practitioner at Ditton Church Pre-School and I have a Level 4 qualification in Early years. Until January 2013 I was Deputy Supervisor for the Pre-school. My current role draws on all of my past experience in childcare, and involves assisting the Supervisor with management tasks and researching current childcare views and legislation. I enjoy working as part of a strong team who all have a shared passion for ensuring that our Pre-School children have a happy and positive early learning experience with us.

I have three children, the youngest was a pupil at Ditton Church Pre-School when it first opened. I was also a Committee Member back in those days! My favourite job is being a mum but I have also enjoyed working part time when I could. I have always worked in office administration and so I now enjoy my role as Administrator at Pre-School, supporting staff, the Committee and local families. I am in the office (next to the Pre-School) all day on Mondays and on Thursday mornings, and am happy to help with any queries that you may have with invoices and payments.

We have some Bank Staff who cover for practitioners

when they are sick, at meetings or on training courses.

Volunteers also help at the Pre-School.
